Paul Keogh's essay Use it or Lose it - Challenges in the Protection of Architectural Heritage was published in the RIAI Annual Review of Irish Architecture Vol. 6.
The essay explores tissues in relation to the conservation and re-use of historic buildings in twenty-first century Ireland, making reference to projects and ideas at home and abroad, and articulates his opinion that the combination of contemporary interventions with conservation of the historic fabric reflects the reality that historic properties must evolve if they are to last, and that this evolution can contribute to making an architecture that is richer than either on its own.
