This thirty-two storey residential tower is the most dramatic element of PKA’s €120,000,000 urban regeneration scheme at Heuston Gate, containing 96 apartments, with a restuarant /cafe at street level and a public observation deck at roof level.
The Tall Building is a particular response to its context within the overall project; it aspires to be a model of outstanding 21st century architecture, complementing the 17th and 18th century structures in its vicinity.
The proposal was granted permission by Dublin City Council. The planners’ report applauded the design, stating that it will make a strong, positive and graceful contribution to the city and its skyline.
In its approval of the scheme, An Bord Pleanala considered that the tall building set a high standard, in terms of its visual impact, having regard to both its design quality and its particular location.
