PKA : URBANISM : Meeting House Square. Temple Bar

Meeting House Square. Temple Bar

As part of the regeneration of Temple Bar, Meeting House Square was built on a derelict plot of land, used as a surface car park and takes its name from buildings which form two of its four sides - the Presbyterian Meeting House (1728), and the 19th century Quaker Meeting House.

More of an outdoor room than a square, it was designed as a space for cultural activities and open-air performance, including film screenings and theatre productions.

Meeting House Square was shortlisted in 2009 for the academy of Urbanism's great place award.
