PKA: Risk Assessment
PKA considers Risk Assessment to be an integral part of the design process; it is vital to identify and assess any risks or hazards in order to provide a safe environment for all people associated with the project including clients, design team members, construction workers and future users of the buildings.
Accordingly, PKA design development work concentrates on identifying hazards arising from the design; assess how serious the risk is, and; decide what is needed to do to eliminate or reduce these risks.
PKA develops a Design Risk Assessment individually for each project. As soon as the project commission is confirmed, the project architect prepares an initial draft of the Design Risk Assessment. The Design Risk Assessment is updated regularly throughout the project.
Design Risk Assessments are reviewed as part of the design review at the completion of each RIAI work stage; they are updated, circulated and filed as appropriate at each review.
