PKA: Health & Safety
Paul Keogh Architects is committed to the full implementation of the Safety, Health & Welfare (Construction) Regulations 2006, and the 2007 General Application Regulations, as they relate to all aspects of the practice’s work.
The practice’s safety statement details PKA’s procedures concerning safety, health and welfare; to provide a safe place of work, safe practices in the execution of our work and compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.
The practice’s QA manual contains health and safety procedures related to all design operations; particularly the carrying out of design stage risk assessments, and the duties and responsibilities of the architect as Project Supervisor Design Process.
PKA’s key staff have undertaken intensive training activities to ensure that the practice is fully competent in all areas of health and safety. Paul Keogh recently completed the RIAI training course and received accreditation to act as PSDP under the 2006 Regulations.
PKA has been appointed as PSDP on numerous projects for public body clients: Dublin City Council, Mayo County Council, Galway County Council, Leitrim County Council, Monaghan County Council, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, amongst others.
When required, our appointment can incorporate provision of the services of a separate health and safety co-ordinator, either from in-house or a separately employed sub-consultant to PKA.
In summary, health & safety is considered as an integral part of the day-to-day running of PKA, and the firm has an unblemished health and safety record, both within the office and on construction sites of projects designed by the practice.
