PKA: Structure
PKA is a medium size practice with two partners - Paul Keogh and Rachael Chidlow - supported by a talented team - 8 in total - comprising qualified architects, technicians and trainees.
Our policy is that every project is managed by one or other of the partners, who takes responsibility for the commission from inception to completion, and attends all key client and design team meetings, progress reviews, and on-site construction meetings.
PKA’s senior associate - Patrick Gilsenan - and senior technician - Kevin Nolan - have been with the firm for a combined total of 25 years; they contribute greatly to the practice’s experience and our capacity to undertake projects of every scale and complexity.
PKA is organised on a studio basis, and our structure is adapted to the unique demands of each commission. Under the direction of the project partner, experienced staff are assigned to each work stage, throughout the design, tender and construction stages of the project.
The project architect, and other members of PKA’s team, are given responsibility for particular aspects of the design and management process: design development, production information, tender action, team co-ordination, and site inspections.
PKA’s reputation attracts staff of the highest calibre, from Ireland, the UK and Europe. They are critical to the quality of our work and the practice’s position at the forefront of Irish architecture.
Nevertheless, our core policy is that all design and management activities are carried out under the direction of a designated partner, giving the client an immediate point of contact with the entire project team, and ensuring successful responses to clients’ design, budget, programme and contract management requirements.
